Let’s Get Funky – Mark – SLJ 2022 – 2023 – Step it up – Blog Number 10

Hello everyone,

Today I’am going to blog about Let’s Get Funky. It was a lot going on. There was  Sumotunes and Scratch together. Here is the video of my scratch project. I  hope you like it. I really like doing Scratch. Sumotunes is my first time using it.

Do you like being funky?

  1. Hi Mark,

It’s Emma here from the Summer Learning Journey.
What a fantastic song you have made! This must taken you a lot of time and energy to complete, but it was well worth it. Pairing the video and music together make it look like the start of a super funky music video, have you named the song? I love all the colours you have chosen, they seem to move and change with the beat of the music. How did you manage to do that?

I have never used Sumotunes before either, by the look of the video tutorial it would take a lot of practice. Did you find it difficult to use? And do you think you will use it again to make more music? I would love to hear it!

You seem to be well versed using Scratch, I’m impressed with you expertise! I have used Scratch once before for some school work of my own and I found it very challenging to use! What was your favourite part about doing this activity?

I am going to mark you post as outstanding! This is because you have used your creativity to produce an exceptional song making use of two different digital tools to achieve the task!

Thanks for sharing a great post Mark.

    1. Kia Ora Emma,
Thank you for your comment. The song name is called funky let go. I’am a scratch pro. My favourite part about this activity was the scratch.

  3. Kia ora Mark,

How cool! I didn’t know you could do that with Scratch. It looks easy to code once you’ve worked it out.

Thanks for sharing it with us.

Keep up the great learning and blogging,
🙂 Sharon – Te Ara Tūhura Education Programme Leader
