Kia Ora,
Today I did another one of Nano Girl’s activity. It is called anti – gravity machine. You will need
- 1 see through glass. I used a jam jar.
- 1 flat card
Here is the video of me doing the experiment.
Gravity is pulling the water down and air pressure is pushing the card up. The both are equal, the water and card stay where they are!
Did you think that water will splash out?
Kia ora Mark,
This is a very cool experiment to try. Have you tried this one before? I tried this one years ago, but I think the paper was too thin and it didn’t work as well for me. I’m glad you tried this over a sink! Haha.
Gravity is such an interesting topic to learn about and there are so many cool experiments to try that focus on gravity. The class I was teaching in last year learnt a lot about gravity. I enjoyed the experiments that used magnets and looked at all the forces at play with gravity. Did you learn much about gravity last year at school?
Ngā mihi,

I learn gravity and other forces in school last year.
