Kia Ora
Today I did nature rubbings. I found a big green leaf when John, mummy and I were walking to Westfield Newmarket. It was near Grafton Bridge in Auckland. First I put the leaf under a piece of paper and I rubbed it with my hand. When I can see the leaf veins and stem appearing, I use the pencil to do the same. Here is my leaf rubbing.
Kia ora Mark,
Manar here from the Summer Learning Journey Team. Another great job at completing the SLJ tasks posted. This activity is awesome because you get to trace the entire leaf, including the stem and all it’s veins. I remember doing this activity when I was younger, I really liked using different shades of green instead of a pencil, to give the leaf colour, are you going to give this a try? Do you think you would use green colouring pencils or some red and orange colouring pencils to make it more of a maple leaf?
Keep it up!
Manar Mahmoud (SLJ)
Kia Ora,
Yes I am going to give it a try. Yes I could use colouring pencils to make a maple leaf.
