Kia Ora everyone,
Today I went on a search around the house for things to make my rainbow collage. I found
violet duster
indigo sunscreen bottle
blue container
green cheese
yellow Pokemon Pikachu
orange brush
red PS 4 controller
I hope you like my rainbow collage. I really liked making it.
Hi Mark,
It’s Emma here from the Summer Learning Journey.
This activity looks like a lot of fun, it makes me wonder what I would be able to find around my house if I was going to do it.
I love that you have used a whole range of different items to complete the rainbow, from cheese to suncream! My favourite item is the violet duster. I think the most challenging colour to find would be something purple because I don’t seem to own many purple things. What was the hardest colour for you to find?
Do you think that you could do this activity with things found in nature too? I think the hardest colour to find would be blue or indigo as there doesn’t seem to be a lot of things that grow naturally that colour. What do you think, do you reckon you could find something?
Thanks for sharing Mark,
Emma – SLJ
Hi Emma,
The most difficult colour to find was violet. If I look for things in nature to make my rainbow collage I will use flowers because flowers come in many colours. Thank you for your comment. Happy 2023 🙂
Hi Mark,
Flowers are a great idea to use. Have you ever done an experiment by putting food colouring to the water of a flower vase. If you pick a white flower or a light colour like yellow or light pink, you can actually see it changing the colour of the flower petals!
If you ever give it a go I would love to see a picture of process and the results!
Happy New Year Mark, I hope 2023 is filled with lots of great things for you!
